    Lance Cook - Senior Pastor

Growing up in a Christian home in Norwalk, Los Angeles County, CA, Lance accepted Christ at age five. By his early 20s, he had a successful surf shop in La Mirada, CA, where teenagers thronged. The Lord pierced Lance’s heart for those lost kids, using his connections and his “surfboard shaper” image to open spiritual doors with many of the troubled youth. Lance would listen to their problems and then share his faith in Christ, inviting the kids to come back to a Tuesday night gathering to discuss the Bible.

Lance Cook never planned on becoming a pastor. And he never planned on starting a church, sending missionaries around the world, or setting up a major relief operation to hurricane victims. But as he followed Christ in the “same calling in which he was called,” God led him step by step to lead a multitude. The Bible study at his surf shop grew into the hundreds, and eventually Lance accepted the pastorate of the church he had planted. Now Calvary Chapel La Habra in Orange County, CA, has grown to a thriving church with outreaches that span the globe.

Lance and his wife Lori have been married for 22 years and have 3 daughters.

   Mead Chesebro - Worship Pastor

Mead grew up in Whittier, California where he developed a love for music.  He picked up the guitar in high school and shortly after was playing in bands that were trying to get record deals.  Mead began to contemplate which direction he should go in life as his music was not producing results.  He began to question what life was all about and what his purpose was for being alive.

At the age of 19, a friend of his invited him to church and Mead heard the teaching of God’s word for the first time.  He accepted Christ into his heart and has continued attending the same church, Calvary Chapel La Habra.   God took Mead's love for music and gave him a desire to serve the Lord with this gift.  Mead began serving on the worship team in ’94 playing Bass guitar.  Then in 1996 he and a few others formed a Christian band called “Rich Young Ruler” which signed with Benson records.  Through this opportunity, Mead was able to share his music, which was now centered upon Christ, throughout the U.S. and even in Japan.  In 2001, Mead began to lead worship at CCLH.  Mead loves to sing praises to his God and loves to invite others to join him to do the same.

Mead has been married for 7 years and has a 3 year old daughter and an 8 month old son.

  Jay Vallejo - Youth Pastor

Jay grew up in Norwalk, California where he attended catholic elementary school.  Growing up with two older brothers he had a love for sports, which included baseball basketball, football and anything else that would exert energy.

He later attended a catholic High School where he ran cross country and got involved in other non-organized sports.  During those high school years he started to experiment with alcohol through parties and friends.  At 16 years old he began working for Albertsons supermarket, which eventually lasted 12 years.  Through those years he continued to develop relationships and a lifestyle that that was centered on partying.

After graduating High School, he attended Fullerton College but eventually dropped out to explore the possibility of making management of Albertsons a career.

Although he had a Catholic upbringing, he never believed in God. But in 1992, at the age of 22, he was drawn to Christianity after witnessing real life changes in his mother and brother who had converted the year prior.  He began taking Bible School classes

Very soon after his conversion because of his desire to understand what he believed and why he believed it, he eventually began volunteering at Calvary Chapel Golden Springs where he later served on staff as a pastor for 11 years, from 1997-2008.

In September 2008 he began serving as an Associate Pastor at Calvary Chapel La Habra.  He currently oversees the High School ministry.

Jay has been married for 14 years and has three sons ages 8, 6 and 3.
